I am really excited about this being a church-wide event this year. I hope that we have a lot of adults who attend. Our youth group is filled with so many wonderful teenagers, and our church adults will be extremely blessed to get to know them better!

Since we are all human, and therefore not perfect, we are all going to sin, fail, and make mistakes. Unfortunately, when we have a spiritual mentor who does this, it can be a great stumbling block to us. We need to keep our eyes fixed on God, not on people. Also, we need to be more willing to forgive others, even those whom we look up to.

Sometimes God calls us to make a “radical” change in our life. This reminds me of what Courtney was talking about in her testimony – putting yourself out there, trusting God, being vulnerable. God knows what we need and He will provide what we are lacking. There is no need to fear when we are following Him.

One of the things we need to be sure to do is allow God to search our hearts and reveal our motives to us. We need to be reaching out to the poor and needy, both materially needy and spiritually needy, out of a heart of love and compassion. Not out of a desire to be “seen by men.”
